These bags are good for lining our compost jar. I am not aware of a better alternative and keep ordering them.
If too much liquid is put in they will leak, but that is to be expected with a biodegradable bag. They do not break down well in our compost bin. My husband ends up pulling them out and throwing them away.

I was excited about the prospect of using these bags and then putting them directly into the compost bin. However, the bag is very flimsy and leaked badly when I removed it from the kitchen compost container. I had to double-bag the kitchen scraps before I could empty them. Next time, I'll use two bags to avoid this problem. Hope it works!

I bought these a couple of years ago. The bags never broke down. I can still see them when I till the garden soil. They leak so that they don't actually keep your compost pail clean anyway. They are expensive (about $0.25 each) so I think you should save your money and compost your scraps directly or maybe in paper bags (as long as you shred those, too.)

This is such a great idea -- a neat, easy way to empty your compost holder. But we are only two people, and by the time we went to lift the bag out of the compost holder to add to our pile, the bag had started to decompose, and so could not fulfill its purpose. I was disappointed! I would recommend it with the caveat that you must empty your bin quickly before the bag starts to decompose.

This is something I use everyday. I have bought other bags in the past but haven't been happy because of smell and unhappy they were not able to be just dumped in my composter. These are so easy and when you're ready you just take the bag and put the whole thing in - wonderful, don't have to deal with messy kitchen waste! Wouldn't change anything!
