Comments about Beehive Composter:
This is a very attractive composter. I shopped around until I found one that was pretty enough to enhance my garden. It does look nice on my property and is functional. I reinforced the wood when I put it together so it has been functional for several years and the paint has withstood Florida weather.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
I got this for Christmas.
We assembled it the day after and placed it on our covered porch (with 6ft snow drifts there's no where to really put it in the yard till April).
It was very cheaply made and fell apart a couple days ago when my son was putting coffee grounds in it.
I'm going to make my own version with better ventilation & such based on this on though - it's really cute with it's vivid color.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
It's full, has been all year, very difficult to empty as designed.
It works as storage, and is nice looking, except for the chipped parts, cheap wood.
Sad to say I recommended it to another gardener before trying. Lesson learned.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
The Beehive was easily assembled and is a pretty addition to my backyard. My only issues are it's not easy to turn the mulch and it doesn't hold much. Two weeks of grass clippings and kitchen scraps and the beehive was at capacity. Turning and aerating has been difficult.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
I thought this composter was so attractive and was excited to see it on sale. I assembled it fairly easily with my 2 and 5 year old sons the day it arrived. We assembled it on a flat surface as they said to in the instructions, then I picked it up to move it into the garden and the entire thing splintered and split apart. There was no way to use it or fix it. It is made of the flimsiest wood you can imagine. If it had ever been filled with compost I'm sure it would have split apart immediately. This would be so nice it it had been made of a substantial wood. I bought the pyramid composter as a replacement and am very happy with that one. Not as nice looking but does a great job and my kids can climb up on it without me worrying it's going to fall apart.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
I so wanted these to work. It stings a bit that I paid [$] for two of them. After less than 3 months, the tops of both of them (I got one red and one blue) have broken off completely from wind gusts. We don't get wind gusts much over 40 miles an hour ever, but it does ocassionally happen. The problem with these composters is that the wood is flimsy. The tops broke because the wood is so light; I am going to have a carpenter friend see if he can piece them back together, and then we're going to weigh the lids down. But as another reviewer has written, the wood isnt going to last long, and the rotting compost will probably weaken and collapse the composters in a year or so. But they are so darn pretty...Gardener's Supply: please make them in heavy-duty cedar next time and I'd buy again.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
When I opened the box, the fumes from the paint were a little overwelming. That was explaned when I saw the label that it was made in china. Who would have thought to ask when it's implied that it's a 'European design developed here in the states?' Then a board cracked one week after we got it, and we hadn't even moved it outside yet. I always choose wood over plastic when given the choice, but this was a lousy buy. The reasons for buying a tried and true (plastic) compost bin far outweigh this waste of money.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
I got this composter last year [...] It looked great in the garden and I really liked the blue color, but it was difficult to turn the compost and when we finally just lifted it up to get the compost out the wood broke apart. Very cute but seems to be poor quality material and impractical.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
All this is, is an expensive wood box. Although more attractive to the eyes (not the nose) than most composters but not functional.

Comments about Beehive Composter:
[...] I really love the cornflower blue colour. The composter was very easy to put together. There is a definite left and right side panel, so be sure you have them correct before assembly otherwise the door will not fit right. The parts fit together with precision and are painted inside and out. The beehive composter is a character piece for my garden and I am very happy with this purchase.
