[...] I have a small (8') pool containing goldfish and 5 turtles. Keeping the water clean with just a pond filter wasn't working. This year I used the barley pads from the beginning, and even with the excessive heat this summer, the filter has been able to keep up, and the pool has stayed clear and clean. I definitely would, and have, recommend this to friends.

They clear up the water in my pond after a few days. They are natural and require no work to put them to use.

I set in the barley pad into a preform pond of appropriate size for one pad about 2 weeks ago. I have not seen any reduction in the amount of algae growing in my pond.

We gave this a really good try. We have a small circulating pond (150 gal. w/no fish) that faces east. We started w/clean water. Put the barley and holder in as instructed. In a few days the water was lime green! [...] "some times that happens and we should pour in 4 - 6 Tablespoons of vinegar, and wait about a month for the barley to take effect".In two weeks, our small pond was thick with algae!The pond was emptied and we started again w/the same barley pad. It is now over a month, and the pond is thick with algae again.This product does not work. There is NO problem w/our filter or circulation.I feel we were taken in and wish we had our money back, but the product is used and useless.We will think twice before shopping again.

Bought a house with a small poond that was overun with algae. The following spring I installed the barley pad and had no algae problem at all. Love those all natural solutions to landscaping/gardening problems!!

I have used barley pads for several years and they really have controlled the algae in my small pond. Prior to finding them I spent a great deal of time cleaning out algae so it wouldn't completely choke my plants.

These pads have worked well to control algae in stock waterers that get a lot of dirt,etc. in use. The water is not necessarily clear, but we dont get a build up of algae. Just clean the waterers a couple of time during hot weather.
