Comments about Barley Ball:
The barley ball was able to reduce the amount of pond scum on our pond in a short amount of time. It is a natural product safe for the ducks and animals who frequent. It will work for up to 6 months. Barley re-fills are available at Gardener's Supply. I was happy to find this easy to use product and highly recommend it.
Comments about Barley Ball:
we bought these by mistake - I usually order the biodegradable barley balls which do work. We ordered 2 of them and when we put them in the pond 1 fell apart immediatley and the other one took 10 days to sink - it floated to the edge of the pond and just sat there bobbing around. They had no affect of the pond algae. I have since ordered the other brand that actually does work....

Comments about Barley Ball:
I have an ornamental pond that I had previously kept clean with a floating chlorine dispenser. Within a week of my removing the chlorine dispenser and installing the barley ball my pond water had a brownish-green tint to it and there was a sludgy brown deposit all over the rocks at the bottom of my pond.

Comments about Barley Ball:
I put the barley ball in my pond and tried to submerge it without any luck but did manage to push it out into the water with a couple of long poles taped together. A muskrat that inhabits my pond thought it was great fun to break the ball and scatter the barley all over. So, I still have lots of algae. I need something else.

Comments about Barley Ball:
This isn't the first time using Barley Bail to help maintain my pond, just the first time using it this way which is much easier and easy to maintain.

Comments about Barley Ball:
I have used this product for the past few years and it has always controlled the algae in my small pond. It couldn't be easier to use, just open the box and throw it in the pond. The only con would be trying to put the refill in is almost impossible
