Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
Use two barley balls to keep my water garden clean and they work great. Inititally I had problems removing the refills from the plastic holders. Now I just take the hose and spray water on the joint immediatly to clean it when I remove the ball for the season. Comes apart easily then. To put it back together I put a little bit of vegetable oil on the seam.

Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
I've used the barley ball in the past, to minimize algae in my backyard fishpond. It's worked okay. However, this year it's been quite ineffective. Perhaps it's because I didn't get it in until early July, just as the weather was starting to warm up. In past years, I've gotten it in earlier, as recommended. This year, it was a waste of money.

Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
Love the product but I find it difficult to put into old container. When it is time to replace the barley, the container has to be wired shut to hold the barley. Barley works great but container needs a new way to refill it.

Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
I had used the barley ball a few years ago but did not use it last year and the pond looked awful! This year I refilled my barley ball and the pond is crystal clear.

Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
The barley ball when new is ease to open and refill, but a used one sticks shut and is difficult to open. I wired the used one together when replacing the refill. The plastic was brittle and the hinges cracked when trying to open the old one.

Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
Refill comes in a net ba so I just throw it in the biofalls and tie it to the charcoal bag so it stays hidden under the large flagstone we cover the biofalls with.

Comments about Barley Ball Refill:
I used 2 barley balls in a koi pond of about 2500 gallons. Kept the water clear all winter, which in Austin TX can still be pretty warm and sunny. Very cost effective, safe, environmentally friendly, and they last 3-4 months.

I use two per season in my small pond. Cleaning is a pain but worth it for the product. No chemicals and environmentally friendly.
