Comments about AquaScale:
Great gift for family without access to garden. However will have to wait until spring to see actual results. Need to use with the planter system sold by Plow and Hearth.

Comments about AquaScale:
I really love home grown tomatoes; I am 70 years old and cannot move like I use to; I had 2 planters this summer and got some delicious tasting tomatoes; I made some booboos; with the gage, I was able to see when the plants needed watering; this is usually a problem with me with plants, is never knowing when to water and when not to.

Judge proper amount of water for hanging tomato but the plant is wilting.

After one month it still reads water not needed?
Someone else had the planter and said they "hoped I had better luck with it" then they did. No sign of what could be a tomato.

Comments about AquaScale:
This makes it so easy to tell if the tomato plants need water. No feeling of the soil, just reading of the meter.

Comments about AquaScale:
The Aqua Scale looks like a good idea, and I like the fact that it responds immediately when I add water to the reservoir. However, all three of my scales indicate that I need to add water when the soil is actually too wet. When I noticed that I was getting drip through from all three planters, I emptied resevoirs and took pictures of each scale. The pointers on all three of the scales were pointing toward the second "D" in "Add Water" as shown in the photo.
I believe that these can still be useful to me once I figure out where the pointer should point when the water content is just right.
I would only recommend these to a friend if I was sure they understood this issue and would not mind having to compensate for the inaccuracy.

Comments about AquaScale:
I cannot move the scale from one hanging tomato plant to another because of the weight of the plants and the poor design of the scale.
