Comments about Grow Houses:
I live in Alaska and bought my growhouse almost 20 years ago and it is still great. You have to keep the snow cleared off and birds do peck holes in plastic but it extends the growing season tremendously. I put my plants inside it in April and it protects from freezing which can go through June in my area - I live about a mile from a glacier. My husband and I were able to put it together in a day with no problems.

Comments about Grow Houses:
Instructions said goes up in a weekend, but I would plan on a few extra days. Keep snow cleaned off and it will last for years. We modified ours to be able to roll sides up to the waiste high side rail and its allowed us to do more with it during those hot summer months. Great for keeping my hot peppers from getting too much water during rainy periods-

Comments about Grow Houses:
I have a perennial business. Earlier plant deliveries give better selling opportunities; by using frost blankets in early spring andlater fall, my growing seaon should be extended by about 6 weeks.
Now it is up, couldn't do it myself, it is wonderful. Putting it up was not nearly as easy as was described. I had a contractor and hishelper do the setting up, and it ws more like 6 or 7 hours of two-man labor.

Comments about Grow Houses:
I love my greenhouse, but they don't tell you ALL the supplies you need. You don't get any of the 2x4s to build it. I spent an extra $150-$200 on buying the rest of the wood to finish it. Yes they do tell you to buy the PTW for the base. But it was still cheaper then buying a little 6x8 panel for $600 and up..

Comments about Grow Houses:
I built the growhouse by myself during the winter of 2008-2009. Instructions were very clear. I had to buy longer screws for some of the construction. Now I'm thinking of how to upgrade it, because at night it's just as cold inside the greenhouse as it is outdoors. I'm going to add a layer of plastic, get some automatic vent openers, and use large drums of water to absorb daytime heat to radiate within the space at night. Also will put heavy landscape fabric on the floor.

Comments about Grow Houses:
I looked around quite a bit before I decided to purchase the 12x24 grow house. [...] What really sold me was the value, which was significantly better per square foot than anything else I could find. The assembly took about a week of on-again/off again work. It was a bit of a puzzle at times, but the directions were clear and all the necessary parts were included, along with a few extra screws and such. The toughest thing was cutting the poly sheet to the right dimensions and then stapling it down. That's definitely a two person job. In terms of performance, it exceeded my expectations. Almost all of my vegetable plants spent some time in the grow house, including sweet corn which I started in soil blocks. I had a great germination rate and no diseases or pests of any type. Spring kind of hung on around here last year, and it was great being able to keep things in the grow house until the soil warmed up. Also, we got hit with some pretty severe weather last summer. The high winds took down one of my maple trees, but the grow house stood up without so much as a tear in the plastic.

Comments about Grow Houses:
On first appearance this product seems to be exactly what I was looking for but because of the design. Instead of a 12 x 24 grow house I have 2, 12 x 12 grow houses that are under the same covering. The way the center connection is designed you have lost space. Neither does the discription say anything about the additional $250.00 to $300.00 worth of wood products I had to purchase inorder to finish construction. This may work for me but is not what I expected and would have been better satisfied with a hoop house.
