We live on a hillside in Alaska. Our attempts at outdoor gardening have been thwarted by long winters or resident moose. We discovered that the Aerogarden allowed us to garden indoors in a way we hadn't been able to do before. It is a self-contained unit that handles the correct water, nutrition, and light for a full growing season. This has been particularly exciting in winter, when the short days make the extra light and greenery in the Aerogarden extra cheerful. The herbs that came with the garden have been a boon for cooking. We were able to harvest enough of the basil to make a nice pesto pasta with shrimp dish that was better than store-bought pesto. The chives weren't as rigorous, but we did harvest enough to season some baked potatoes. The pepper kit we bought has flourished; the little jalapenos are excellent. Main problem is we were so pleased with our results that we had to get more Aerogardens and try other kits.

After the e-coli out break I decided that I was going to grow as much of my own food as I could. I got on a few websites and read some reviews and decided I would give it a try. I was not disappointed. I purchased two of the pro-100's for lettuce and herbs and one pro-200 for tomatoes since it expands taller. They were very easy to put together and maintain. I'm very impressed and plan on purchasing one more in the future. Wonderful product!!!!!!

We have grown herbs, but should have anticipated the volume, and had a dryer, sealer, etc. for the amount we produced. Now we are growing lettuce, and it is beautiful and delicious.

I mainly use it to keep fresh herbs in the kitchen. I love the way it lights up a dark corner. I really enjoy watching the germination process. The herbs are healthy and prolific. They are also tasty. What's not so great is that the manufacturer says the grow bulbs should be to be replaced every 6 months. Also the manufacturer has developed a newer model. I am considering getting the bigger model for tomatoes----the herbs quickly grow up to maximum height.

I always have fresh herbs and lettuce. The lights are on when I am sleeping so they make good night lights. Don't put this in your bedroom.
