I bought 2 for my patio planters. I live in an area with very hot, humid summers and always had to water my planters every day. Now I won't have to water them as often.

          Comments about Self-Watering Conversion Kits:

The tube to fill is in wrong place and takes up all the room in the pot so it is difficult to plant around it. The lid on the tube interferes with the float. The float gets stuck and so doesn't come up as it should.

Love the product. It makes life easier as I don't have to water my pots as often. Only negative is that the band of plastic that holds the cap to the body breaks easily.

              Comments about Self-Watering Conversion Kits:

The water level indicator doesn't work, because the float gets stuck on the edge of the tubing. I will use it as a water reservoir for my indoor pots and just have to measure how much water I add. Also, the fill tube is easy to knock out of its insertion place.

                Comments about Self-Watering Conversion Kits:

I use these in outdoor containers. They definitely work as advertised enabling me to go a day or two between waterings. But you have to be very careful not to detach the tube from the base when adding soil or plants. And, the covers at the top only work about 50% of the time, so you have to also be careful about getting dirt in the water reservoir.

                      Comments about Self-Watering Conversion Kits:

Just received one of these to "try it out". I had to call CS because it seemed that the "dirt" doesn't touch the water and the roots of the plants aren't nearly long enough to get down to the water and there is no wicking piece of fabric to bring the water to the soil (as was the case in my old self watering pots)and so couldn't understand how the "dirt" would be able to wick up the water. I was told the water evaporates up thru the "dirt" and so the soil is hydrated! Hopefully that will work; can only wait and see. Will do update after a week or so. "Dirt" is special soil purchased with this kit.

The upright tube does not stay in place, even when set upon the edge of the water reservoir. Caps on both tubes no longer close - and I just installed them yesterday, without any damage to them.
