These Self-Watering Conversion Kits convert your favorite pots into self-watering planters, keeping your plants from drying out and reducing the time you spend watering. Just place this self-contained adjustable reservoir in the bottom of your pot, insert the refill tube and cover with soil. The One-Gallon Conversion Kit holds four quarts and fits pots between 16" and 20" in diameter at the rim. The smaller One-Quart Conversion Kit holds one quart and fits pots up to 10-14" top diameter. Simply fill the reservoir with water through the convenient Fill Tube. The soil will be moistened through evaporative action from the reservoir below. May be used with a liquid or a water-soluble fertilizer. A vacation watering solution!

This product is very gimmicky. If it were built better it could work properly. The notches on the filling tube do not hold the filling tube in place. I have to hold the tube when I open the lids to fill the planter so it does not come out of the notch when filling even with soil packed around it. The float is useless as it gets caught on the filling tube at the bottom unless the filling tube is flush to the bottom of the planter; not the second or third notch so I have to jiggle it loose to really see how much water is in the bottom of my planter. I've yet to see the results to justify the expense of this product.

We haven't had enough dry days to really see how well this works, but so far it seems fine. It does allow for adequate drainage, so the plants are doing well.

I put 3 in pots outside that are on the porch. I like the idea that I don't have to water everyday. Wish these would have the same water meter as the grow boxes. Easier to judge the level. Should have ordered more.

Have both sizes currently offered in pots collected of yrs....work well..but DO NOT FULLY RELY on them to water via roots esp. if weather is hot, pots in full sun, etc. for more than 4 days or so..need to water from top too..GS needs to offer a bigger size also..and the fill tubes should be longer.

Excited about this product. Since receiving ,3 weeks ago, have only had to water once. It has rained twice and the temperature has not been above 90. I live in Texas and look forward to how well this will work in The 100 degree weather.
Originally bought for vacation watering. I have planted the large wing begonias with this system and they look great!
