    Cons

    • No cons

    Best Uses

    Comments about APS Parts:

This is the best way I've found to hold up a seed starting block of cells over a reservoir. Lightweight, but sturdy enough to last for years--about 10 for my oldest.

I purchased an APS system years ago. This is the first time i had to replace any parts. I love that you can replace an item rather than have to purchase a hole new one.

      foam too light and weak

      Pros

      • Lightweight

      Cons

      • Flimsy
      • Hard to clean

      Best Uses

      • Growing Seeds

      Comments about APS Parts:

I use as part of the APS system. The reason I bought more is the product is too weak and breaks. It is hard to sterilize, as it floats so avidly that it gets broken.

Once in place, it does its job (holding up the APS soil tray). Roots tend to grow into it. Vigorous brushing destroys it.

      Comments about APS Parts:

Excellent for rooting cuttings of greenhouse plants and carried-over annuals like geraniums. Will hold plants for a long time until outdoor conditions are right. Perfect for people who travel frequently and still garden. Insulates against that sudden temperature drop in the morning. Great for forgetful gardeners!

            Comments about APS Parts:

I use the APS seed starting system and over the years, my water reservoirs were cracked & needed replaced. I found them on the Gardener's supply website, but I couldn't order them because it said they were no longer available. However, when I called customer service to see if they could suggest a replacement product, they told me that they were available. It would have saved me & the customer service rep time and energy if they could be purchased online. The APS systems are a must for me and starting my seeds indoors.

I've used APS sytems for years. I just HAD to replace them after we moved. Now with a greenhouse, they perform better than ever. I had Kohlrabi emerge in 48 (yes! 48!) hours. NO other system I've tried has worked any where nearly as well. I'm sold!

                  Comments about APS Parts:

I've used the APS products for the last 10 years and usually end up with 90% seed germination. The
germination time is usually less then indicated on
the seed packages. I use them and recommend them to anyone wanting to start seeds. Include them in
                  my presentations.

                  Comments about APS Parts:

Have used the APS system to start seeds for years. It is nice to be able to buy parts for the system but have noticed that the styrofoam is much more breakable than it used to be.

I have been using Gardener's Supply APS for about 30 years. Best way to get seeds, in general, to sprout. (Tiny seeds are started in flats and can then be transplanted to the APS).

It is important to remember to wet these before starting your seedlings, then they work great for the whole time your seedlings are going. At this price it's easy to replace these every season.
