Comments about APS Parts:
Messy to fill with potting mix, but worth it for the excellent results, especially for those starting seed for the first time.

Comments about APS Parts:
The APS systems are the ideal way to start seeds. I've been using them for many years and wouldn't use anything else. I get the best gernimation rate and end up with healthy plants that take right off in the garden.

Comments about APS Parts:
I am still using some of these trays that I bought twenty years ago.

Comments about APS Parts:
It is nice to have the option to buy just the parts that you need to replace instead of buying a whole new APS kit. I needed to replace just a few parts and by buying just the pieces that I needed really saved me some money. The APS kits and indoor growing system are great because I can control what I want to grow in my gardens. When I bought from the big box stores my only choice was to plant what they carried when they carried it or to try to time when I planted the seeds outside. Now it is easy to start the seeds when I want and to stagger some of my starts in a controled environment. When others gardeners in my community were complaining about a lousy growing season I was busy blanching and freezing up a nice load of veggies that I was able to harvest from my APS vegetable starts!

Comments about APS Parts:
To use this properly, it must be sterilized after the first use. The foam is way too low density, and is hard to clean. The buoyancy makes it impractical to submerge in bleach solution.
Concept is good; it holds the soil above the water.

Comments about APS Parts:
I have tried numerous seed starting systems and I prefer Gardeners Supply 24 APS to any other.

Comments about APS Parts:
I have been using these for over 20 years--and some are still the originals. That's value. I have tried every seed starter system out there, and none can touch the APS system. If you are a home gardener who likes to start seeds inside under lights for a jump on spring, these systems are for you. The 24 is excellent for tomatoes and the 40 is great for flowers and lettuce.

Comments about APS Parts:
The best feature is that the growing seedlings don't dry out during the day.

I have used these for years. Nice to be able to order parts to replace worn ones.

Comments about APS Parts:
I start my tomatoes, artichokes etc in the APS 12 and then transplant into APS 6 units. This system has totally eliminated problems with damping off. Virtually 100% germination. Sometimes the sides of the styrofoam cells break and eventually the capillary mat deteriorates, but they usually last several seasons. Recommended.
