Exclusive | Our APS-24 Units Ensure Seedstarting Success
- All-in-one seedstarting system offers self-watering convenience
- Includes Pegboard, Planting Tray, Reservoir, Capillary Mat, and Greenhouse Cover
- The larger 2" x 2" cells of this APS-24 are best suited for fast-growing seedlings, such as tomatoes, peppers and marigolds
This all-in-one unit ensures steady supply of water for seedlings. Just keep the reservoir filled and the soil will remain perfectly moist. The APS 24 ensures sturdy, healthy transplants that will thrive in your garden. The insulated growing tray and greenhouse cover trap warmth and moisture to speed germination. The capillary matting and reservoir let seedlings help themselves to water as they need it, even if you're away. Seedlings pop right out of the tray for planting, which prevents root damage and transplant shock. We recommend our Germinating Mix. Replacement Parts are available.

Comments about APS 24:
The base tray is too weak. Originally, the base was supported by a foam outer tray. That was eliminated. The black plastic water tray needs to be made of thicker material.
The top foam tray is difficult to clean for reuse. If floats so avidly, it will break if you try to hold it underwater for sterilization. I would prefer a top tray without dividers. I cut mine out (difficult to do). This works better for germinating a variety of seeds, that germinate at different times (only in fairy tales and Garden Supply catalogs do all the seeds germinate, and at the same time).
The best part is the watering system (tray/cloth wick), which works well and keeps the seeds consistantly moist for weeks on a fill.
I lift the germinated seeds from the soil mix with a pair of slats (cut from a vinyl narrow venetian blind), and insert them into 2" square "tree-band" pots for growing on.

Comments about APS 24:
Recently took a power gardening class through my local school district and this product was recommended and demonstrated by the instructor. I honestly thought it was pricey until I bought it and tried it.
I did my own "test" using this product in comparison to the normal starting trays and other starting mix. The difference was AMAZING.
I will never use the junk from the local garden stores again. This product is by FAR superior all the way around.
Your seeds will start faster, be healthier, and the maintenance is less! What more could you ask?
I LOVE this product!

Comments about APS 24:
I tried one of these years ago, but didn't have enough light in my home for seedlings. Should have bought a light kit. Now I have both and I can't wait to start my seeds for transplants into the garden.

Comments about APS 24:
This was for a planned school project, so I had to use it even when the black water reservoir leaked. Luckily, I had a plastic storage container that was big enough to set the unit into. I can't see that the styroform (?) planting unit will last for more than one or 2 uses, and it is too soon to see if the seeds will germinate.

Comments about APS 24:
I have been buying the APS systems for years and use to love them. They switched the reservoir trays from Styrofoam to plastic. Well, the trays I bought I few weeks ago have actually melted in the sun!! I wanted to purchase many of them to fill a new greenhouse but obviously they can't not hold up in the heat.
