Exclusive | Grow Like the Experts With Our APS Seedstarting System
This slim, all-in-one unit fits on a windowsill and ensures steady supply of water for seedlings. Just keep the reservoir filled and the soil will remain perfectly moist. The APS 12 ensures sturdy, healthy transplants that will thrive in your garden. The insulated growing tray and greenhouse cover trap warmth and moisture to speed germination. The capillary matting and reservoir let seedlings help themselves to water as they need it, even if you're away. Seedlings pop right out of the tray for planting, which prevents root damage and transplant shock. We recommend our Germinating Mix. Replacement Parts are available.

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
After many years of buying plants I decided to try growing from seed this year. These are the best I have used. I have another type also but the seedlings grow better in this product. I wish I had purchased four instead of two. They will be my only type used next year. They are easy to move and store.

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
I love starting seeds indoors to get a jump on the spring planting. I live in zone 6, so it's snowing outside today & I'm watching my seedling come up inside. Can't wait to plant. I like the watering system, so they don't dry out.
Wish you would make a smaller one for 12 plants and 1 inch square. Most homeowners don't want more than 12 plants of one thing and space is a problem. Thanks

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
These seed starters are self watering in the fact that when you fill the reserviour the matting wicks the water up to the cells so the roots can drink. I don't have to water for several days even with the heat mats and lighting I use with them to get my seeds growing. Cleaning them with a 1:10 bleach solution after use and they are ready for the next season. I have some on these that are about 8 years old! I recently ordered the windowsill APS-12 for smaller spaces.

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
Use it for seed germination and seedling growth. The small size is great (small in that it is for a relativey small number of seeds.)
The bad part of the more recent of these is that the bottom pans that hold the water are flimsy and have leaked (you replaced these). I've used these for years and the old ones never leaked.
Because I have several, they accommodate the speciific needs of different plant seeds. Since this is for home use, in large trays, I have to mix different seeds which often germinate under different conditions and at different rates. The fact that it fits on a windowsill is immaterial to me as I used a rack with grow lights.

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
I have always used and loved the APS system - the only thing that would make it better, in my opinion, would be if it were made out of something less toxic than plastic and styrofoam. It has a great water-holding capacity, great drainage - it's the perfect seed-starting system! I only wish that they hadn't discontinued the APS-6, which had larger cells, which were better for larger (tomato and pepper) seedlings.

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
I have never had a bad experience with the APS systems. I've used them since you started selling the product. I tried others but was disappointed. In fact the only draw back is putting too many seeds in a cell, because the always come up!

Comments about APS 12, Set of 2:
I still love these trays. I've been using them for 10 years and they are holding up really well. The 12 cell tray is my favorite because of the size of each cell. I've tried other systems and they are not as sturdy. My seeds always germinate quickly and I've not had any problems with consistent moisture due to the water wicking set up. I would recommend these to anyone that wants a pretty foolproof way of starting seeds.
