A-Frame Garden Trellis Saves Space

Maximize your harvest of peas, cucumbers, summer squash and melons by growing them up this space-saving trellis. The poly-coated steel poles clip together without tools to create a frame that's approximately 5' high x 5' long. You get 42 square feet of growing space in a 15 square foot footprint. Support the vines by adding your own twine or netting, or use our Biodegradable Netting.

  • Get your biggest harvest of blemish-free produce in the minimum space
  • Sets up quickly, folds flat for storage
  • You supply the twine or netting; we recommend our Biodegradable Netting attached with Reusable Plant Ties, both sold separately

Comments about A-Frame Support:

I added a stake at each leg for a little more support. We sometimes have high winds and I did not want them to topple. I now have cantelope vines running over them, with healthy cantelopes hanging from them. I will use them again next year. A plus in my book.

        Comments about A-Frame Support:

The A-Frame needs cross members to keep the legs inline and to stabilize the whole set-up before you apply the netting.

          Comments about A-Frame Support:

I tried to set it in the garden by myself. The horizontal bar kept popping out. I had my husband help me and neither of us could get in the ground to the point where 1. the horizontal bar would not pop out of one or more of the braces and 2. it wouldn't completely fall over. Total waste of money!

            Comments about A-Frame Support:

The concept is great but the implementation is not. It is hard to get the steaks into the ground, flimsy, falls apart when trying to assemble. We purchased the invisible netting and that has been really difficult to attach. It would be so much better if there were little hooks for the netting. I am thinking of throwing this away and buying something else.

                Comments about A-Frame Support:

These are simply the plastic coated steel stakes you can buy at a big box store (wait... it has special clips that make the A-frame, I guess that's where the value is). You could make the same thing on your own with a couple of bread bag twists - c'mon man. And then they don't give you the netting !!!??? [$] for this - what a waste!

                Comments about A-Frame Support:

In the picture it appears that the A-frame support has cross sections and only states
"Support the vines by adding your own twine or netting, or use our Biodegradable Netting" and
"Works with our Biodegradable Netting attached with Reusable Plant Ties, both sold separately" No where does it state you HAVE to use netting, I was little disappointed when I was ready to use it.

                Comments about A-Frame Support:

This product takes a good idea and executes it poorly. The A-frame is a classic solution and you would think that making the poles out of plastic with an easy snap-in connection would be a good idea. But the connectors do not grasp the poles very well, so the built structure falls apart repeatedly as you try to build it, or move it, or shove the poles in ground. And once you do build it and get it in the ground, it is kind of an ugly plastic thing. After constructing this product and putting it in my vegetable garden, I built a similar structure out of some old bamboo poles that I had and some string. It was a simple job, resulted in a sturdier structure, and looks good.
