It has been hung on the east side of our screen porch for 2 years and looks as good as the day I installed it. Plenty of light, but no glare, comes through. It's in a perfect spot to help the trees and shrubs block sight and sound of the street out in front (and the neighbors driveway).

We use it to block the afternoon sun from our den, making it cooler in that room and also to help retard fading of the floor and furniture. You can still see outside when they're pulled down, but pull down slowly--sometimes the chain binds a little bit.

This shade was easy to install, looks nice and is easy to raise and lower. I use it on my patio to shade my front door from afternoon sun. I wish it cut a little out a little more heat, but it is a help.
