We needed to replace some worn out planters on our deck, and these were the perfect fit! Easy to install. No tools necessary. Just set on the railing. Add soil and plants. Six evenly spaced drainage holes to prevent standing water from accumulating.
Some reviews mentioned that the product stickers and UPC code labels were hard to remove. We didn't have that problem at all. (A little WD-40 helps remove any residue.)

These saddle planters are great! I purchased one last year for the 6"-wide railing around my deck. It worked beautifully and I was very pleased with it so I purchased two more this year. As they are a little pricey when you add in the shipping, I plan on purchasing two more each year until I have gone all the way around my deck. PLEASE do not discontinue offering them! The only problem I ran into was getting off all the "sticky" from the label that was on them. If you don't get it all off, the dirt adheres to the glue over the course of the summer. Not to end on a bad note, I am very pleased with these planters and would readily recommend them to any gardener!

I purchased two of these for my rear deck railing and they look just great. I did not want water draining onto the covered deck boards so I closed up the holes with packing tape from the inside. Then I used styrofoam peanuts at the bottom of the planters under the soil to aid in drainage without adding weight and this idea has worked out well for my purposes. I'm VERY happy with this purchase ;-}.
