Comments about 23" Self-Watering Windowbox:
I have had two of these for at least a dozen years or more. They have faded after all those years outside but by the time the plants fill in you really don't even notice it. I love them because I don't have to water every day. In most cases I only water once a week. The gauge for the water level did break early on but I found that I knew when the soil was saturated because the planter will leak if you over-water it. I only use them outside so that's not a problem for me. I will be using this one at a vacation rental so hopefully when I'm not there, occasional watering will suffice.

Have them surrounding my deck, looks so nice and do not have to be watered very frequently. I accidently dropped one off the deck removing it. That is why I had to replace that one.

Love this self watering planter. I got it to start an herb garden on my porch rail. My herbs are going great in this. Easy to maintain and not easy to kill the herbs. Get one!

We have had these same planters on our porch rail and under the front windows for quite a few years. We decided to add one more planter on the front porch to make it more symmetrical. You still carried the exact product and it blends in beautifully.
The plastic piece that attaches the water reservior cover to the side of the planter box is a great idea but has not lasted on our older planters. Each connection piece has broken off and you must keep track of the cap when filling with water. Use a more flexible piece of plastic for the attachment piece?

This cuts watering of window boxed WAY down, and the planter and fittings are good and sturdy. I take out the flowers at season's end and fill the boxes with various conifers for attractive winter appearance.

These boxes are the best way to keep your plants healthy. It's easy to see when they need water and they're easy to fill. I did have to replace some of the water level gauges after a few years of use. I painted mine with spray paint for plastic to match our house. They look like new. The plants in my window boxes are healthy and abundant. It's important not to let your window boxes dry out.

Comments about 23" Self-Watering Windowbox:
I bought this box with the idea of hanging it off my deck railing to grow lettuce in a place the bunnies were sure to keep away from. Before planting, I gave the pieces to my father-in-law, who enjoys these sorts of projects and finds a way to make things work. He reported that there was no way those brackets were going to fit over my deck railing. I'm a little disappointed, since it seems they're supposed to be made to do just that. The box is now sitting on my deck table, and the lettuce is growing just fine. The box itself took some assembly. The directions say to remove the insert to make sure nothing is underneath. I could not figure out how to get it out. I just shook the pot to make sure it was empty. I love the fill indicator. There's a red line sticking up to tell you if you're in the proper fill range, which I can clearly read from inside my house. This is a feature that none of my other self-watering containers have. It doesn't drain at all, which you might say is the point of a self-watering container, however they need to have some way to not get overfilled other than putting them under cover when it rains. The ones with a side fill hole offer overflow drainage. The covered reservoir is a plus, keeping out the bugs. I like the concept, I'm just not happy with all of the design applications.

Not having to water so often and knowing my plants will receive the right amount of water to look their best is the best payoff for me. I've had them several years (perhaps 5) and they still look great---Even tho I leave them in place all winter here in MA
