It is good to find an attractive pot which does not weigh much. By the time you add a large plant and dirt, it is heavy enough. Thanks for this product. Wish it came in some smaller sizes as well.

I previously purchased two of the self-watering window boxes, which perfomed excellently for the second year in a row, and that led me to make this purchase. Set the plants in May 2011, but I always had to add water even after two months when the root system should have been developed and throughout the summer At the end of December, I emptied the resevoir, which was completely full and I hadn't added any water to it since May -- the soil (Gardner's brand) was dry. Removed the soil & the still viable plants and everything appeared to be as in the instructions. I'm perplexed.

My plant used to dry out and leaves would fall off. After using the self watering planter, the plant has flourished, doubled in size. It looks wonderful in my sunroom and I rarely have to refill the planter. Very easy to use because the little plastic tube rises to the surface when there is sufficient water in the base of the planter. I bought a duplicate for my sister who gets tired of constantly watering her houseplants.

My sister and her husband recently moved into their "forever" home, and I gave her two of these pots for the front porch of their new home. They were thrilled and have planted two miniature spruces surrounded by pansies. I included the soil designed for the self watering pots.

Beautiful, bountiful planters depend on good soil, fertilizer and careful watering. But to take your planters from standard to sensational, you need the right plants. Start with this simple rule: Combine plants with three different habits. In other words, thrillers, fillers and spillers.
