Ladybugs and praying mantises are voracious predators of many garden insect pests, including aphids, whiteflies, spider mites and mealy bugs. We'll send you approximately 1,500 adult ladybugs or an egg case of 200-300 praying mantis eggs — each adult will eat several times its weight in insect pests, daily!

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
I set up both eggs in a terrarium. It's now been 8 weeks (and almost fall...) and the eggs still haven't hatched.

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
I order these becuase I love Lady Bugs - they bring you good luck.
I used them to take care of any insects around the gardens.
I invited children and granchildren to participate in putting the lady bugs out in the yard. We also released the lady bugs inside the large birdcage that covers the pool and deck area where I have my raised, self watering planters.

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
The ladybugs arrived alive (not a single casulaty found) and were released around the garden. Unfortunately, by the next day there was no sign of them. Not sure what I could have done to keep them around. Will have to think about it before I try again with them next year.

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
The ladybugs all arrived in alive and well, I think in a package of 1500 there were only 3 that weren't alive when I distributed them in the garden. They do really seem to have helped with the nasty veg eating bugs in the garden.

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
Loved releasing all the little ladies, but forgot to put away our 4 pet chickens! I couldn't understand why the chickens were so excited until I saw they were eating my "girls". Ahhh!!

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
I was impressed that all the ladybugs were alive when they arrived. They spent the day in the mailbox, so I was relieved when I opened the envelope. I was concerned that they all flew away after only two days. We did make the feeders with bamboo from our yard, so they did have those. I'm not sure why they flew away.
I did buy the garden clogs and love those.

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
Using ladybugs on the hibisuc plants on the and mandivila's on the deck have prevented aphids, as well as the rose bushes -- I have had no problems with aphids this summer

Comments about Beneficial Bugs:
Ladybugs - Many of you have complained about the LB's leaving asap. Take a small spritzer, add water and 3 tablespoons of sugar (small spritzer, about 16 ouncer), shake and spray down the LB's before you let them out. This will make their wings sticky and they won't be able to fly away for a bit. Also, prior to letting them out, do 2 things. 1. Soak your plants. 2. Soak a few hundred raisins and set them out in areas you want LB's to stay, just prior to letting LB's loose. As long as it doesnt get too dry, you will be successful in keeping the LB's. AND the kids will think its cool to do the things like use sugar water, and fat raisin, not to mention the fun of letting the LB's loose.
